tonite bearturds opens at grass hut. hope you can make it over. If not check it out online eh… My next buddy to join steven globby killer edward fancy haircut and rainbowasarus is randall the bear.
Some peeple call him Randy.
I asked some grass hut family to do their own take on randall for the grass hut walls.
KaToPe, Chanmen, Martin Ontiveros, Scrappers, Tripper, le Merde, Nao Harada, Drake Brodahl, Steve Matthews, Bwana Spoons (that’s me), David Wien, Cupco, and maybe a few more all contributed pieces.

Randall the Bear is the newest member to the forest island family. He’s a honey hooch drinking sun of a gun who runs a scrapyard “Bearturds junk and bones”. you’ll find he really likes honey and all kinds of other juicy tidbits in this interview. Read on.

Tripper: As the proprietor of Bearturds Scrap and Bones is your mission more to recycle cars or to build broken bikes?

Randall: I lak smashin’ cars. It’s so fun watching the windows go POP! And then the tires go kablowee!

Are you into those so called “freak bikes”?

Buildin’ bikes jus come natural to me. But I don’t build no freak bikes. Smash a car build a bike that’s my matto.

What was your initial reaction when Bwana approached you (or did he) about an art show featuring you as the subject?

Bawanna’s my friend. He said if I build him a bike he would make me a new sign for my shop an make tee shirts an patches n toys but I ain’t seen nothin’ yet.

I heard you know Yogi Bear; is he really a Yogi or just a fan of the free lunch?

I don’t know any Yogis. I know Steven the bat, globby, jessie the wanderer, an some other folks, couple of beetle brothers, they work for me, an some stingey stingy bees. Don’t share no honey.

Who would win in a clean fight; Chew vs. Nicotine gum?

Chaw tastes better. An smells better. Like chewy flowers.

What’s the story behind the patch?

I’ll save my eyeball stories for another time.

Fair enough. Have you heard the one about the two hunters? One of em fell asleep while taking a shit and the other put the entrails of the dear they just bagged under the first and sleepy comes back to the camp and says “I shit out my guts but by gods good grace I was able to stuff them all back in”.

I’m the only one huntin’ around these parts. Always huntin’ some honey from those stingey bees. Them lazy bees never give me no honey. It’s a battle of wits wit those bees and me.

I never heard that story bout those tricky hunters.

Follow up question; Are you a socialist?

Do you mean a bear that shares? I share all kinds uh stuff. I share my honey lager, an them little beetles sleep out in the scrapyard. Bees don’t share though. Stingy stingey bees.

And finally. What are your plans if any for improving or expanding your Bearturds operation?

No real plans, jus keep smashin’ cars and buildin’ bikes. Maybe race my old street rod next year.

Maybe if that Bawanna ever finish his jobs for me. I’ll open up a little Bearturds souvenirs shop.

List of what will be at SDCC with me this year.
Super 7 monster family steven SDCC exclusive.
Le paper project Killer’s tee pee. First in the series.
New randal print. Good morning sloth print
Mooneater and a few other customs
Blind box madness- this will be a mostly pocket killers, mostly painted, a few customs, blanks, globby, tiny paintings, prints, candy, sprinkes, magic dust. Price TBA- More expensive than a standard release cheaper than a custom. These will include the cream and yellow base killers, and a few other suprises.
The first 10 hand cast sloth n moth each a dif color. Kinda a pantone scheme. This will be a fund raiser for mold making costs for the real deal. Maybe first soft vinyl release beginning of september. No more hand casts after SDCC. These were beautifully cast and sculpted by beth graves at brand loyalty. The soft vinyl version to come will be cast in Japan.
Two new jelly factory sculpts- baby mountaintop, and Bumps in the night walking killer.
Some og paintings of course.
New sars tee. SARS tee will work as a new membership package for non sars members. Probably $30. For you guys (already SARS members) tees will be way cheaper $20 for the event.

Schedule- which is subject to change via wind patterns.

The Vinyl Frontier 5:55pm-7:40pm
MARRIOTT HALL 1 & 2 (Marriott Hotel and Marina) I think this is a viewing of the film and then a panel after, or some variation on this. I haven’t seen the film yet so it’s a treat for me too.
Saturday- I think a monster family signing at some point for most of us. i think mine is at 11am. Stay tuned to Super 7’s site for further info.
No specific releases sat or Sunday, just good times.

Our booth number is- 4739 You can find it listed under Gargamel as myself and other grass hut type yokels le merde, martin ontiveros, and kiyoshi nakazawa will all be together this year with the gargamel gang. This year will also be the first time arbito will be around. i think he will have a little set up at the super 7 booth, along with his first vinyl toy, and best awesomeness of all Katope will be with the gargamel gang!

I little note about credit cards. In the past years I have been able to take credit cards thru Grass Hut. Now grass hut is inside floating world. FL may be able to run cards for me and the gang, but just not sure yet. There may need to be a certain amount to run them. FL may have a bigger charge% for me or possible may not want to run them at all for GH gang. I will find out this week, but just in case be prepared with cash. Le merde had the idea that we could take Paypal at the con. That would work fine too, and maybe easy.
