I have had the luxury of meeting Mr. Joseph Harmon on my many journeys to and around Edinburgh. It is a very dangerous city full of drug addicts and a plethora of socially and mentally deranged maniacs. The crumbling architecture is reminiscent of something found in Escape From New York or Escape From L.A. (the better of the two). In Edinburgh (pronounced Ed-an-berg) by the dim witted locals, the air is hard to breath. It is a thick musk which burns your lungs upon each instants of inhaling. When talking to the natives it seems as though they hardly notice the diseased oxygen that causes such discomfort to an outsider.

It is hard to imagine anything worth while coming from such a putrid, horrifying place. In fact when at all possible I skip pass the the nearly barren land. However it is sometimes impossible and I must travel there to gather supplies for my people. Joseph is the only decent person I have ever encountered in that hellish place. His creations bring much joy not only to my people when I bring them back with me, but to the surrounding areas. There is literally a ray of psychedelic light that shines from his workshop onto all neighboring residence. His yard is the only one with any kind of plant life. It isn't of ordinary nature though. The planets are lush and vibrant with color. Red, purple, blue, hot pink, all of the colors most common in Joe's artwork. Most of the plants are more obviously alive than what one normally sees in nature. They seems to follow you where ever you go and gently whisper sweet jibberish in your ear. Some are louder than others and call out in baritone voices for you to "watch your step" or "state your business." I won't get into what wild life around the work shop is like. I will only tell you that I myself am not sure if his art work is inspired by them or if the art work became them through some sort of nerd sorcery.

Mr. Harmon himself is an interesting fellow. He sports a long dark grey robe and an eye patch, which seems to always be on a different eye upon each visit. I have often found myself wondering if or why it was even needed. I dare not ask for fear of offending him. He adorns his head with a large hat. One that wouldn't seem out of place on a wizard. It too is dark grey. It adds, maybe, two feet to his height, before folding over toward the left. Suppressing my fear I once asked Joe if he "ever removed his hat which seems to always be perfectly intact." He scratched underneath his eye patch with his left thumb and sternly replied "boy you aren't ready for the contents of this hat, it is a magicians hat, and can only be truly understood by a wizard of the highest order." I nervously drank some tea he had made me earlier in our visit before things seemed to get so tense. Joe stopped scratching, adjusted his patch and continued, "the things you'd see would twist your mind, tear your soul, and squeeze the fresh blood from your heart." I finished the tea with a big gulp and sat my goblet down. Joe spoke once more "One must hone there skill, study their spells, and have purity of heart, before they are ready create something worthwhile. For if you don't what comes out of the hat will not only be evil, but worthless as well."

Joe is one of the best artist working now. He has an ungodly like work ethic than induces stress and frustration for anyone around him for more than a minute when he is working for a deadline. Other people lose sleep just knowing there is so much to be done and little time to do it in, but Joe doesn't sleep at all. He operates on a whole other level, where sleep isn't even a luxury, but a nuisance. His commitment to not only originality, but quality is above and beyond what others would consider acceptable. Joe has one reason for being the god in his own little world he is slowly creating and that is to make ours better one piece of art at a time. He is constantly stepping up his game, not resting on the laurels of his success, researching ways he can improve, and making toys because he loves toys. Joseph Harmon is the wizard behind some of the most original, stellar, fun toys out now.
